THE CIRCUIT OF LOVE: The Law of Life
Science tells us that for electricity to power a lightbulb, there must be a complete circuit—a flow of energy from a source, through a channel, to the object, and back again. If that circuit is broken, the light goes out.
The Bible reveals that the spiritual universe operates on a similar principle. It is called “The Law of Life.” It is the secret behind the Ten Commandments, the plan of salvation, and the peace of heaven. But sin has broken this circuit in the human heart.
In this study, we will explore the “Divine Pattern” of God’s kingdom and discover how to reconnect to the power source of the universe.
I. THE DIVINE PATTERN: Source and Channel
1. Is God a God of confusion or order?
1 Corinthians 14:33 — “For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace…”
Answer: Heaven is a place of perfect order. Just as the physical universe has laws of gravity and motion, the spiritual universe has an “Order of Operation.”
2. Who is the ultimate Head of the universal family?
Ephesians 3:14-15 — “I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named.”
Answer: The “Family of God”—which includes angels, unfallen worlds, and believers—is named after the Father. He is the Head and the great Source of all life.
3. How does the Bible define the “One God”?
1 Corinthians 8:6 — “But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things… and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things.”
Answer: The Bible presents a beautiful divine pattern:
-
The Father is the “Of Whom” (The Source).
-
Jesus Christ is the “By Whom” (The Channel). All things come from the Father, through the Son.
4. Does Jesus claim to be the Source, or the Recipient?
John 5:26 — “For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself.”
John 6:57 — “As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father…”
Answer: Jesus openly declared that He lives “by the Father.” He is the Divine Son of God, but He thankfully acknowledges that His life and authority are given to Him by His Father.
5. How do we access the Father?
John 14:6 — “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
Answer: We cannot bypass the Channel to get to the Source. We go to the Father through Jesus Christ. This is the “Divine Circuit.”
II. THE LAW OF LIFE: Receive to Give
6. What is the fundamental principle of Christ’s life?
John 8:50 — “And I seek not mine own glory…”
Answer: The “Law of Life” is: Receive to Give. Jesus received all things from the Father, not to hoard them, but to give them to the world. He did not seek His own glory, but the glory of the One who sent Him.
7. How does inspiration describe this “Circuit of Beneficence”?
The Desire of Ages, p. 21: “All things Christ received from God, but he took to give. So in the heavenly courts, in his ministry for all created beings: through the beloved Son, the Father’s life flows out to all; through the Son it returns, in praise and joyous service, a tide of love, to the great Source of all.”
Answer: This is the heartbeat of the universe. The Father’s life flows through the Son to us; we receive it and flow it back in praise to the Father through the Son.
8. What happened to this circuit when sin entered?
Isaiah 59:2 — “But your iniquities have separated between you and your God…”
Answer: Sin broke the circuit. Lucifer (and later Adam) wanted to take rather than give. They wanted to be the Source rather than a channel. The circuit stops at the selfish heart of man.
9. Can the carnal mind follow this law?
Romans 8:7 — “The carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.”
Answer: No. The carnal mind operates on the “Law of Death”—which is Get to Keep. Selfishness is a dead end (a “short circuit”) where flow stops.
III. THE TEN COMMANDMENTS & TRUE GLORY
10. How are the Ten Commandments divided? Exodus 20:3-17
Answer: The Law is divided into two sections:
-
The First 4: Duty to God (Receiving).
-
The Last 6: Duty to Man (Giving). You cannot keep the last six (loving your neighbor) unless you are first keeping the first four (receiving love from God). You cannot give what you do not have.
11. What is the definition of “Glory” in the last days?
Revelation 18:1 — “And the earth was lightened with his glory.”
Answer: God’s glory is His character (Exodus 33:18-19). The final work of the church is to shine with the character of Jesus—which is the character of selfless giving.
12. To whom do we give glory in the judgment hour?
Revelation 14:7 — “Fear God, and give glory to him…” Ephesians 3:21 — “Unto him [the Father] be glory in the church by Christ Jesus.”
Answer: We give glory to the Father through the character of Christ reproduced in us.
13. What prevents us from giving glory to God?
John 5:44 — “How can ye believe, which receive honor one of another…?”
Answer: Seeking praise from people destroys faith. If we are looking for credit, we are acting like Satan (who sought his own glory). If we are acting like Jesus, we deflect the praise back to the Father.
IV. THE FINAL INVITATION
14. What happens when we choose to “Give”?
Luke 6:38 — “Give, and it shall be given unto you…”
Answer: This is the economy of heaven. The more you give (of your time, love, money, talent), the more God pours into you. You cannot out-give the Source.
15. Who are the “Remnant” people?
Revelation 14:12 — “Here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.”
Answer: The Remnant are those who have re-connected the circuit. They receive the “Faith of Jesus” (absolute trust in the Father) and they “Keep the Commandments” (live a life of love toward others).
16. What is the “Mystery of God” that is finished in the last days?
Colossians 1:27 — “…Christ in you, the hope of glory.”
Answer: The mystery is that sinful human beings can become perfect channels for the divine nature. The “Law of Life” is restored in the human heart.
17. How do we restart the flow?
Revelation 3:20 — “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock…”
Answer: We must open the door of the heart to Jesus. When He enters, He brings the Father’s life with Him, and the current begins to flow again.
18. What is the ultimate goal of the Universe?
1 Corinthians 15:28 — “…that God [the Father] may be all in all.”
Answer: The ultimate goal is for the love of the Father to fill every corner of the universe, flowing through Christ, through the angels, through us, and back to Him in an unending circle of joy.
Your Decision
The world teaches us to hoard, to protect self, and to climb the ladder of success. Jesus teaches us to descend, to serve, and to give. Will you choose today to be a “Channel” of God’s love rather than a “Dead End” of selfishness?
